Here you’ll find one of the main antique markets in the city, attracting all types of serious collectors and resellers to shop their wares. Open every Friday, the shops are set up by individual vendors in the early hours of the morning. So early in fact that by 9 AM, most of the good stuff is already gone. You can also find more traditional shops with much longer hours in the same vicinity if you miss your Friday morning spot.
San Telmo Antiques Fair, Buenos Aires
This is one of the best markets in Argentina and you’ll be among tons of people looking for deals across a handful of vendor stalls with antiques, vintage clothes, artwork, classic movie posters and so much more. The neighbourhood the market is situated in is famous for its tango music, so there will always be song and dance right around the corner. Only open on Sundays, head over anytime between 10 AM and 5PM
Rose Bowl Flea Market, Pasadena
This is a huge market featuring 2500 vendors making it the largest in the Los Angeles area. Whether you’re looking for vintage clothing, kitschy retro accessories, records or anything you can imagine – you will probably be able to find it here. It takes some time to get through, and VIPs can get in at 5 AM alongside early birds willing to pay $20 to get in instead of the usual $8. Open to the general public by 9 AM, the market closes at 4 PM which gives anyone plenty of time to explore and discovered. The days you go to L.A. will determine if you get to visit: the market is only open the 2nd Sunday of each month.
Chine Machine – Paris, France
Paris is a city so full of history, that a chance at any of their antique or thrifting shops is truly an experience. Chine Machine boutique does a wonderful job of capturing this experience through presentation. Whether its old mannequins, classic TV sets, of vintage photographs of the stars of yesteryear, the mood is set to find some incredible vintage pieces. While you can get amazing deals with just a few euros, paying a little bit extra for some of the most prestigious brands in fashion will still be a steal, like an Hermès coat for €140. This shop also doubles as a venue, with monthly events happening for small groups of partygoers and a DJ.
